Just hours before MP's were scheduled to discuss the future of cycling the Government finally released its draft Cycling Delivery Plan for informal consultation.

This long awaited document makes no funding commitments. During the poorly attended parliamentary debate the Cycling Minister, Robert Goodwill MP, said "We want to explore how to get £10 per person" The draft plan merely suggests that "working with local government and businesses, we can together explore how we can achieve a minimum funding packet equivalent to £10 per person per year by 2020-21.

CTC described the document as a "derisory plan" not a "delivery plan". They go on to express the view that after numerous and lengthy delays it falls far short of delivering the Prime Minister's promised cycling revolution.

The draft plan is on the government website www.gov.uk and can be found by searching cycling delivery plan. For more information visit www.ctc.org.uk.
