Local Transport Plan 3 (LTP3)

Local Transport Plan 3 was adopted by BCC Spring 2011, this outlines the priorities and the way transport will be developed between 2011 and 2016. Buckinghamshire has nine local transport areas each having it's own local strategy. Unfortunately Wendover does not have it's own strategy but comes under the heading Greater Aylesbury and Wendover. This carries a section headed Urban Strategy-Wendover that states:

Priorities

1. Public transport provision

2.Traffic speeds and road safetyTraffic speeds and road safety

3. Cycling conditionsCycling conditions

4. Parking provision and management

The following approach to transport improvements in the town should be pursued by all partners including ourselves [Bucks CC], local councils, local community organisations and the voluntary sector:

Approach:

Enhancements to the walking and cycling environment should be made so that modes offer an attractive and safe alternative to the private car. We will work with local groups such as Get Wendover Cycling (GWC) to identify opportunities to encourage greater levels of active travel. should be made so that modes offer an attractive and safe alternative to the private car. GWC fully supports this strategy and look forward to seeing the Local Area Action Plan that will outline the actual work programme and schemes to be adopted. This action plan will be developed during 2011/12 and be made available online.
